Here is a beautiful, heavy 3 ply worsted 100% alpaca yarn, produced here in Iowa on our farm, and made into yarn at a home in Wisconsin. These incredibly soft skeins are 250 yards each. This yarn is a substantial amount of yarn, and one skein will make a significant scarf.
I only have 4 skeins of this yarn, and it will never be able to be reproduced again, since it is a baby fleece. This yarn is from Annabelle. She's a beauty, and does well in shows.
You will love the natural chocolate/dark rose grey color. It is an unusual color. The bright sun did not pick up the hints on grey in the yarn. Annabelle was sired by Zoolander. Check out Zoolander's fleece on my site as well. The colors are very similar.
This is very nice yarn. The feel will amaze you. This is from Annabelle's first fleece, which means it is something special!
This yarn is heavier than most I sell in my shop.
We just love raising alpacas here in Iowa, by the Mississipi River. Harvesting the lovely fleeces and making yarn each year is very rewarding and exciting!
There will be bits of Iowa pasture in this yarn. We process our yarn very minimally, so some does remain. Annabelle wasn't sheared as a baby, so more hay stuck in her fleece than normal. So do expect to spend some time picking the hat out. I have one skein picked over pretty well, but the other 2 will take a few moments. The yarn is worth the effort, however.
Hand wash cool, mild soap like Ivory dish detergent or Eculan wool wash.
Made and stored in pet and smoke free environment.
